Tim Cook explains why ‘it’s not true’ that the iPhone ‘isn’t built in the United States’

Apple has long assembled the iPhone in China. Why not here, in the United States? “We are building things in the United States,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said, speaking in Chicago at a taping of  Revolution: Apple Changing The World , a special collaboration between  Recode  and  MSNBC . “It’s not true that iPhone isn’t built in the United States.” “What people fixate on,” Cook said, is that the final assembly is done in China. But in a “global world,” you do things in a variety of places — components from some places, assembly in others. The iPhone’s display glass, for example, comes from Kentucky, Cook said. Chips are built all over the U.S., as is equipment for manufacturing the iPhone. The FaceID module on the iPhone X will be built in Texas. Plants are going up in many places. EVERY GHANAIAN CAN SOON BUY A MOBILE PHONE

Mobile phone prices  are likely to face drastic reduction upon the suspension of Import VAT by Ghana Revenue Authority. Ghana Revenue Authority has suspended the collection of Import VAT on 64 commodities and this may positively affect the prices of some commodities especially  mobile  phones. These 64 commodities include; Mobile phones, electrical transformers, tractors for agricultural purposes, solar cells, musical instruments, outboard motors and other devices. A statement signed by the Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid, indicate that, the suspension of the Import VAT and the Fumigation Levy has become necessary as a result of the “unintended hike in import charges.” The statement added that the decision was agreed on after an extensive consultation between various stakeholders and government.

Why Hassan Ayariga Doesn’t Want You To Talk On Phone While Charging

The Founder of the All Peoples’ Convention (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has started a social media campaign to discourage people from talking on their phones while charging them. Mr Ayariga nearly got his ears and chin burnt had he not dropped a call while his Samsung Galaxy S5 was being charged on Sunday morning. He said after receiving a call around 9:30 AM he heard a pop sound similar to the what carbonated drinks make when they are opened.
